An interesting post on
http://mauidemocrats.org deserves a mention. Back in May, the Maui Democrats submitted questions to the Akaka and Case campaigns requesting position statements from both candidates on issues including the War in Iraq, the Patriot Act, and Bush Administration tax policies. The Akaka campaign responded with complete answers to all of the issues. To date, according to the Maui Democrats blog, Case has not responded.
What is Case trying to conceal? His campaign website is completely devoid of position statements on the War in Iraq, the Patriot Act, tax policy, health care policy, education policy, or any other issue in this campaign. Is it possible that he doesn't want to explain his support for the War, the Patriot Act and Bush's tax policy, and his inexplicable support for eliminating the National Endowment for the Arts and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting?
Case is calling for debates, yet he is avoiding any mention of his position on the issues. What is going on here?
